The rotate command's restriction or snapping to whole degree steps is very annoying. It "feels" as if the command is allowing you to snap your rotating point to a given line but then it jumps to the nearest whole degree.
I realize you are able to tab into the edit window to give a precise angle, but it would be much nicer if you could hold down shift or option to release the restriction.
If there is another way around this I am unable to find it - or a description in the manual.

| Would you by any chance have the Drawing Setup > Units set to full degrees? I have mine set to Deg.XX and seem to be able to get finer increments. |

Close Jeff, very close! Try holding down the Command key during the rotation. This works when moving objects as well.
Also, once in the rotation mode, you can help the fine control by moving your mouse further away from the centre of rotation.

Also Jeff,
Have a read through Section 5 of the PowerCADD manual. Lot's of good stuff in there including the Command key thing (p5-4).

Hmmm. I always use the Wild Tools rotate tool. Center of rotation, start and end of rotation are all snap-able nicely.

Thanks Guys, command does work.
I would still suggest that option is the more usual key to use for releasing constraints - so that command doesn't seem a natural choice. The one other issue is that while holding command and rotating, if I try to snap to a line using the "s" snap the drawing saves rather than snaps.

jeff,
I agree with others, WT rotation is better. However I find that with some key combinations, such as using a modifier and a snap key, pressing the letter key first can avoid the usual modifier/letter command. That might work for you.
