I'm working on restoring a house that I'm not able to finish for financial reasons....Any willing architect and furniture manufacturers that want to make it into their showcase, pubblicity ecc???
It's a beautiful rustic turn of the century home in the mountains in Italy, in the heart of the national park in Abruzzo....lot's of northern europeans buying into the market for holiday homes.
I'll never be able to finish this house on my own resources
I know! I'm crazy but I thought it was worth a shot....
thanks |

it depends how far you have got with the restoration.
people will buy old buildings that are part-finished (saves them a lot of time), especially those who do not want to have to do a complete renovation job themselves.
you may find an architect - or that architects know people - who will buy it - but I don't think that they will finish it for you (worth a try, always worth a try). _________________ Richard Haut has worked with the architectural profession for over 25 years and produces the weekly Richard Haut's Competitions, which has given architects details of many thousands of projects for which they can apply across Britain and Europe. |

Hi Richard,
I don't want to sell the house. I'm willing to let an architect do anything he/she wants to it and use it as a business card so to speak, so long as I can fulfill my dream of living in it....yes exactly you never know.... |

| Doesn't sound like much of a good deal at all!! An architect would use a good job as part of their portfolio regardless of whether they are paid or not. Are you suggesting someone else comes in, designs organises and finances the renovation/redesign then hands your dream home all over to you in perpetuity with no payback?! There are many thousands of picturesque rustic ruins in Central Europe. What makes yours so different? |

how about rights for part ownership, or timeshare in exchange for the work? There are a lot of architects (even arquitectos) out there who like to take on a good Quinta, but not likely for free. As Lekizz put it, central Europe has more ruinas than it knows what to do with. Architects are often visually stimulated, try posting some photos of the building. I suggest inviting some architecture student to live there, create their first 'masterpiece' while you fund their stay. just a thought.

That sounds like a really good idea. I will post some photos of the house, it isn't a ruin actually and the location is a real bonus.
If there is anyone who is willing, it can already be partially used....so food and board isn't a problem. |
