When I cut out an image (say of a chair) from photoshop and place into Powercadd I get a very jagged edge to it.
Does anyone know of an effective solution to this ?
Essentially I'm trying to paste photo objects (perhaps with a complex outline) into a powercadd drawing |

I don't know exactly which end is the problem. In Photoshop you might try playing around with your selection techniques , specifically the feathered edge setting of your selection. On the PowerCADD end, I don't know if transparency support from PS is a problem or not since I haven't worked with this at all. Someone else must know. _________________ Rob

Have you confirmed that it looks jaggy when printed also?
You used both the word place and paste. As I recall I have had acceptable results placing a jpeg so you might want to save it out of PS then place the jpeg. Sorry, I do not have time to experiment right now.

Hi
Using the extract filter in photoshop I separate an object (office chair) from a photo and then "copy and paste" the chair into a powercadd drawing.
It tends to paste in PC with a rectangular white background (non transparent ) for which I then select and "object to bitmap" under the "tool" menu. This minimizes the white background in the image but the effect is quite messy with at best a ragged outline
With photoshop I've tried scaling up the original & then extracting but no improvement.
I've tried printing and its essentially what you see is wyg.
maybe I'm doing something wrong ? |

Convert the picture into an object using Vectormagic.

This gives great results.
You no longer have to deal with manipulating bits.
It's a whole lot better to deal with objects.
