Since installing PC8, my drawing jumps to the right or down when dragging a new guideline onto the window. Is there a fix to this?

Just to confirm your comment.
I didn't spend a lot of time, but noticed the if I grab a guideline, there is a slight "jump" but only if I am zoomed in on part of the drawing. If the drawing is zoomed out (reduce to fit) - I don't get the jump. If there isn't any image (lines, texts, and so on) on the screen, I don't get the jump.
I wonder if the issue is with the mouse (sensitivity)?
While I could see it may be irritating, it doesn't seem to effect functionality. |

You are correct - I hadn't noticed that it doesn't jump if your are zoomed out to the full screen size. Also, while it does not actually move things on the drawing, it is functionally irritating in that I am zoomed in order to precisely align the guideline.

That does happen to me on occasion, though.
I've been blaming it on my Microsoft wireless mouse.
Even so, I find my mouse a serious alternative to that darn trackpad. I simply cannot draw anything with a track pad.

John -
I think Mr. Hansford has it right - it happens when you are zoomed in on a portion of the drawing, not when zoomed out all the way.
Of course I am usually looking to set a guideline when I am zoomed in so that I can use it to align something working on the whole drawing. So it is quite annoying.
Dan Weston in my office has an email conversation with ENGSW regarding the same problem but didn't get a resolution. |

Perhaps a workaround would make you feel better? Probably not.
I am not sure this will make the difference as I am not on v.8. I only use WT parallel line tool to give guidelines. I don't like the rulers and this also gives me offset lines, which is a common use. These lines can also be diagonal. If you don't want an offset, the setting on the tool allow you to drag the line where you want.
Other needed fixes: Guideline use should be independent of whether you use rulers or not. Angles and pitch should be alterable by input on creation. All guideline commands should be in one menu.
