| Wouldn't be nice if there was a setting in PC that autmatically hid the Dock when Powercadd was opened or made active- and maybe shoved the toolbars over into the freshly vacated dock space. |

In the interim, you can control-click on the vertical dividing bar in the dock to get access to the dock's preferences in a pop-up menu.
Turn hiding on/off is the second item in the menu. |

When Dock Preference for "Hiding" is on, the Dock does not take up ANY screen space -- except when it is "popped up or out" for actual use by running the mouse into the edge where you have the Dock hidden.
Working in PowerCADD, I prefer to locate the Dock on the right-hand edge of the screen to minimise unwanted/inadvertent activation (using the right and bottom of screen space for most tool palettes).
This action is the result of the System Preferences, and thus applies to any and all appliccations. In other words, we NEVER allow the Dock any screen space.
