I took Alfred's advice and made the plunge for a new computer to use PC8/WT9. I wound up with a stock dual quad-core 2.8 and added tons of memory and HD space.
As usual, WildTools is functioning flawlessly! Unfortunately I cannot say the same for PowerCADD 8. Just in a single day of using it there are multiple issues and I may go back to PC7 for the time being.
I'm having consistent problems using drawings from PC7:
Small text either doesn't show or shows as a block (and no, greeking is not on). If I manipulate the text enough to show, then it will be fine in all drawings until I restart PC8. Likewise, PC7 drawings that have PICTs display incorrectly and the only way to correct this is to place the original files.
I'll write a much longer review as soon as I have compiled the current list.
BTW, I still LOVE PowerCADD - after having to use VectorCAD for some 3D drawings I will never switch.
Cheers,
Ralph |
