Reference on wrong server

Postby pbacot » Fri Apr 15, 2016 2:01 pm

A colleague sent me a file with a reference file that is on his server (although there's a copy in Dropbox). PowerCADD will not open the main file at all and gets caught such that you have to force quit. What do you do?

EDIT: OK if you wait long enough PowerCADD allows the file to open, without resolving the reference. If you update the reference, it seems to be doing something--although the server is not available. Hard to say what's happening.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I think we should just work with references in Dropbox, but my other idea is it's too much trouble overall. Apparently one cannot even know from the master file where the referenced file is supposed to be.
